As most of you know my cute daughter recently got engaged and then just really recently called it off. There were many reasons that brought about this decision but the final one when asked my opinion was: "Eternity is a long time to spend with someone who doesn't make you laugh." So this blog is mainly for all my wonderful young women whom I consider daughters and friends. When you begin dating seriously and start considering marriage please keep in mind that you will have years of struggles and years of success. But no matter what the challenges may be it will all work out if the two of you can work together with smiles on your faces and add some humor to the challenge.
I have definetely gone through some challenges especially when Par was first diagnost with APA but it helped both of us to tell jokes (horse jokes were very common for a while) and laugh about anything we could. Don't get me wrong, it's ok to cry too but make sure you do it together usually the tears become your rainbow of hope. So as you all get ready for your adventure to college just keep this in mind after a date, if he didn't make you laugh and if you don't smile when you think of him, don't waste your time going out with him again.
